A video published by the New York Times shows US-backed Syrian rebels executing prisoners in broad daylight. The video brings chilling memories from 2004, when photos emerged showing US soldiers torturing and sexually molesting Iraqi prisoners.
Many doubts already exist about the reason behind a strike on Syria. Were chemical weapons launched by US-back rebels or Assad? Will war free the Syrian people or profit the military industrial complex? Is Syria a stepping stone to Iran and World War III?
We don’t need to go deep into conspiracy theories to deny the United States a unilateral and illegal attack on Syria. If we take war propaganda at face value, history shows that the US is not fit to be the World Police. When given the opportunity, the United States has caused more death and destruction than the dictators it deposed.
